Chris LaBelle is the Associate Pastor of Redeeming Grace Church. He and his wife Rachel have been married since October 2013, and they have three children: Nolan, Myra, and Evan. Chris is bi-vocational and currently works for Rose Family Construction, as well as serving the body at Redeeming Grace Church.
Chris was born and raised in southeast Michigan and would classify himself as a “downriver rat.” In his earlier years, he did not know the Lord. He struggled to know his purpose in life and why God would allow the things that happened to him, happen. After many struggles with broken family relationships and personal conviction of sin, Chris was saved during his freshman year of high school. While he was on fire for the Lord early on, he was not discipled at the church he was attending. After a few years of struggling with his identity and walk with the Lord, God provided that discipleship at Friendship Baptist Church in Lincoln Park, MI.
Chris served as an intern at Friendship where he felt the call to pursue vocational ministry. In 2017, Chris and Rachel moved their family to Memphis, TN where he attended Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and graduated with a MDiv in Pastoral Ministry. They briefly moved to Florida, but quickly realized that Michigan was home and moved back downriver in July of 2021.
Chris enjoys duck hunting, playing hockey, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends. His friends would tell you that Chris is quick to bring up Scripture or turn to prayer in any given conversation. He has a strong bent towards discipleship, intimate relationships, and creating a tight knit community within a body of believers. He would love to meet you for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even just a cup of coffee to learn more about you and how he can specifically pray for you. It’s almost guaranteed that when you walk away from him, you will hear “I love you,” because he genuinely loves people and reminds them of it often.
