Faith Forged In Fire

Peter is writing to believers who were beginning to experience what it was like to live in an environment hostile to Christian faith. As the gospel spread in the first century, so did the negative reaction to it. It doesn’t seem these believers were facing open persecution, but were facing opposition and suffering because of their faith.
